Travertine has natural pitting that can collect debris; wipe with a clean, damp cloth and dust regularly or use a handheld vacuum. Avoid the use of harsh chemicals. Use placemats or coasters under hot items to prevent marks and stains. Protect the surface from liquids like wine, coffee, fruit juice, etc. As a natural and porous material, travertine can be nicked, stained or scratched; avoid placing sharp or heavy objects on surface.
